Our Programs

Food Bank

We have the privilege of providing food for over 800 people in our community each month! Our volunteers are passionate about meeting the immediate need of hunger in our neighborhoods. We host a Monthly Food Bank on the 3rd Saturday of each month, as well as offer emergency food on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am-12:00pm. In need of assistance or interested in volunteering? Visit our Contact page for a list of ways to connect with us.

Clothing Closet

Our Clothing Closet is a simple way for us to meet one of the largest needs in Baltimore. Our volunteers work diligently to create a friendly atmosphere where people can come comfortably to “shop” for warm, gently-used clothing at no cost to them. This often paves the way for shoppers to make a great impression at job interviews and restores a sense of dignity. We invite you to come “shop” or volunteer on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am-12:00pm. Connect with us via our Contact page for more information.

Baby Supply Closet

Baby care products are expensive, but they are necessities for families with infants and toddlers. We help by providing these families and single parents with supplies such as diapers, wipes, shampoo, and clothing – all free of charge. We invite you to come “shop” or volunteer on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00am-12:00pm. Connect with us via our Contact page for more information.

Community Dinner (Soup Kitchen)

Each Friday evening, we gather at the Dream Center for a warm meal that has come to be a community favorite. This is much more than just a time to get a full stomach–it’s a place to catch up with friends and neighbors. Our volunteer chefs prepare a meal that never disappoints and is always free to everyone in attendance. No appointment or reservations are needed for dinner—simply show up on Fridays between 5:30pm-6:30pm! Volunteers are always needed before, during, and after the meal. Connect with us via our Contact page for more information.

Urban Mission Trips

We invite your group to join us for a short-term mission trip in the inner-city of Baltimore. You’ll have the opportunity to touch lives and see the programs of the Dream Center firsthand. The neighborhoods that you’ll be working in are in true need of hope and you can make a difference! You will work hard, pray loud, and truly come home a different person. Connect with us via our Contact page for more information.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery is a fellowship of people committed to being a loving, safe place where you can be honest about real problems—hurts, habits, and hang-ups. This weekly small group that goes through a faith-based 12 step study together has a reputation for being a safe-haven in the midst of life’s troubles. All adults are welcome on Fridays at 6:30pm. (Classes are also available during this time for kids and teens.) Connect with us via our Contact page for more information.

Youth Outreach

Here at BDC, we’re passionate about the next generation. Each Wednesday at 6:30pm, we have a special service dedicated to Middle School and High School students that is exploding in numbers. The positive and supportive atmosphere is a much needed alternative to the violence, drugs, truancy and poverty, which had become neighborhood trademarks. We strive to provide a safe place where these students can take a break from the pressures of home, school, and the streets. They participate in Bible study, have fun playing games, and we have a hot meal for them each week. Ages 12-19 are welcome and if you’re interested in volunteering, connect with us via our Contact page.

Human Trafficking Prevention

Baltimore City has a growing notoriety as an area full of prostitution. While many are filled with hatred at simply the mention of the topic, we strive to make a difference by reaching out to these individuals in love. Our team sets out into the city streets passing on kind words, hugs, and the timeless message of redemption through Christ. This is often the highlight of our Urban Mission Trips. Connect with us via our Contact page for more information.

Career Counseling

Our goal is to offer our community a “hand-up” rather than a “hand-out” and one of the main ways that we accomplish this is through our Career Counseling. We are always available to help on job hunts and to give assistance on résumés. Our Clothing Closet is also very helpful for job interviews. In need of career counseling or interested in volunteering? Visit our Contact page for a list of ways to connect with us.

KidStreet (Sidewalk Sunday School)

A highlight in our community during the Summer months is when we pull our big, yellow KidStreet truck onto a neighborhood field for “sidewalk Sunday school” with the kids. The side of our truck folds down to create a stage where we lead games, sing songs, and spread a positive, Christ-centered message to the children. It’s truly a remarkable sight to see the kids’ excitement! Connect with us via our Contact page for more information on getting involved!

Adopt-A-Block

In a simple attempt to show our community that we care about them, our volunteers and various Urban Mission Trip teams take to the streets and reach out to our neighbors. Teams pick up garbage, sweep sidewalks, pray for families, and spread encouragement. In need of assistance or interested in volunteering? Visit our Contact page for a list of ways to connect with us.

Prison Ministry

We have a team of dedicated volunteers that visit a local prison once a week to reach out to inmates with a chapel service. Through this ministry, we have seen countless lives changed after hearing the redemptive message of Christ. Want to get involved? Visit our Contact page for a list of ways to connect with us.
